Elaine Mensah is definitely making her mark in the fashion industry. As founder and fashion director for SVELTE LLC, her fashion powerhouse, she is rapidly gaining rank as a force to reckon with in the fashion industry. SVELTE is the manifestation of an idea Elaine had to transform her birthplace, Washington DC, from just a political state to a fashion capital! Her past experiences, multi-cultural background (raised in Cote d’Ivoire and Ghana) and portfolio of work in the fashion industry provided leverage and a strong foundation to the inception of SVELTE in 2007.

Today, Elaine’s portfolio of work prceeds her and her hardwork has scored exclusive interviews with personalities and experts in the fashion industry including Jason Wu, Lela Rose, Fern Mallis, Nigel Barker, Phillip Bloch, Ted Gibson just to name a few as she plays creator and host for online fashion radio show Fashion BS and  fashion channel SVELTE TV.

Her styling roledex holds tv personalities including Jack Mackenroth of Project Runway Season 4 and The Bachelor’s Andrew Baldwin as well as various campaigns for designer lookbooks, print editorials including Washington Life Magazine’s 2009 Holiday Issue, and in-store events for Macy’s Inc.

Elaine’s mounting fame in the fashion industry has also landed her a number of features in publications including Washington Post’s Fashion Washington, Washington Life Magazine, Washington City Paper, Washington Times, Capitol File Magazine, and Roll Call. She has also appeared as a fashion expert on WUSA9 News discussing ethical/eco fashion, on WJLA Tv affiliate “Let’s Talk Live” and WPGC 95.5FM, and was one of the four expert panelists on local DC area television program “As We See It.”
